Ramblings from a wandering American girl on a tiny Japanese island

church

well, it took a lot of cycling up and down hills and a bit of getting lost, but i made it to the island's abandoned church before sunset and snapped a quick pic.  the gotos islands where I live were home to the "secret christians" many years ago here in japan.  they hid out in the gotos essentially to be safe from persecution.  their legacy lives on in the many beautiful churches that are on all of the islands.  some of them are still in use but most of them are just empty and beautiful like this one here.  kirei!
